Kettlebell Training for BJJ Video Flow

“…A Kettlebell Training for BJJ|Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Flow…”

Here’s a quick kettlebell training for BJJ flow that I was playing around with after training some Judo today with one of my coaches Marius.

Nothing too planned, just playing with some kettlebell exercises flowing together for BJJ or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Keep you eyes open for the release of my new “Kettlebell Training for BJJ 2.0 program. Should be out in November…hopefully.

But for now I’ll keep posting kettlebell training for BJJ workouts and having fun with my kettlebell flows.

Monkey Drills for BJJ

” A BJJ Workout Video by Noah Spear and Jason C. Brown”

Noah Spear, BJJ Blackbelt and CBJJ World Champion is a master of body weight exercises for improving BJJ. Noah uses many of these body weight or animal movements for his BJJ specific warm-ups prior to class and as a way of Free Style BJJ Conditioning.

If you remember from this other Free Style BJJ Conditioning video that I posted last week. Noah really just plays with his movements, never really focusing on sets, reps or an ultimate outcome other than his movement itself.

Steve Maxwell Video Interview Part #2

We’re back for Part #2 of our video interview series with BJJ Blackbelt and strength & Conditioning master Steve Maxwell.

In this video Steve talks about:

1. The training of the ancient Persians and Indians. Where did club training actually originate?

2. The truth about calories. Does what you eat really matter? How about Paleo nutrition? Is there truth to primal eating?

3. His thoughts on diary-based diets. How warrior cultures survived for years on mostly whole milk and much more.

A DIY BJJ Grip Tip

Yesterday I posted a video of one of my favorite no-gi BJJ conditioning tools.

A lot of BJJ players are Do-It-Yourself types of guys and of course that’s where the discussion turned.

I just received some good photos and plans from my friend Doug on his own DIY Fat Grip model, those will be coming up soon.

Here’s what I did a few years ago.

These type of DIY tools work well for your own training, but aren’t always the best option in a facility.

Get Rid of Your Weak Grip Once & for All

You know how important a strong and endurant grip is in BJJ. Chances are that your first few matches of BJJ, with or without the gi made your realize how much your grip is involved.

Very frequently I receive questions about training tools that I can recommend and use within our BJJ conditioning plans.

We use several tools to increase our grip strength and our FatGripz is one of our favorite.

These things are versatile, go with you everywhere and can go on almost any piece of equipment, barbell,dumbbell,Pull-up bars and even most band attachments.
